Messeret is an award-winning actor, producer, and philanthropist.

Messeret is an Ethiopian name that means Foundation or Cornerstone. An Audelco Award-winning actor (and three-time nominee), her theatre credits include Fast Blood, Joe Turners Come and Gone, Insurrection: Holding History, and Blue.

On television, Messeret can be seen on The Best Man: The Final Chapters, The Sopranos, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, alongside numerous commercials—including Disney World, IKEA, Brawny, and more. Her voice can be heard in Soul Men, Damages and Boardwalk Empire, commercials for Advil, Verizon, Huggies, Kellogg’s, Western Union, and the video games Red Dead Revolver, Grand Theft Auto and The Warriors.

Along with her husband, Ed Wheeler, she co-produced and stars in the short film “Keepers of the Flame”. “Keepers of the Flame” is a 2023 OFFICIAL SELECTION of the DC Black Film Festival, Orlando Urban Film Festival (winner of BEST ACTRESS-Messeret Stroman Wheeler and Runner-Up for BEST SHORT), the Black Bottom Film Festival by August Wilson African American Cultural Center in Pittsburgh and the Oscar Qualifying/International - Pan African Film Festival.

Messeret has served as Associate Producer and Social Manager of The ASP ARTS COLLECTIVE . Outside of acting, Messeret enjoys fitness, philanthropy and was an inaugural board member of the international dancer/choreographer Shamel Pitts’ TRIBE. She is a Florida native, cum laude theatre graduate of HBCU, Florida A & M University (FAMU) where she became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.(AKA). She is based in NYC.
